It’s Never Just a Headshot

I’ve noticed a funny pattern.
After a session—sometimes within days, sometimes weeks—I’ll hear from a client with a bit of unexpected good news. They got invited to speak at a conference. Their new headshot stirred up attention online, and suddenly there’s a wave of new business. Someone booked a commercial. Someone else reconnected with people they hadn’t heard from in years. One guy even won a golf tournament.
(Okay, I won’t take full credit for that one. But hey, the timing lines up.)
It’s like something shifts. One client described it perfectly:
“It’s like eating the mushroom in Super Mario. You just... level up.”
That might sound a little over the top, but I get it. There’s something powerful about being seen clearly—maybe even for the first time in a long time. When you show up in the world with a photo that feels like you—not the version you think you're supposed to be, but the real you—people respond. And more importantly, you respond.
I don’t take that lightly. I put my heart and soul into every session. I’m not just aiming to make people look good on camera—I want them to feel good, feel powerful, feel like they’ve reconnected with themselves.
That’s the part that’s hardest to explain ahead of time. A recent client said,
"How do you tell people about this part? They have to know it’s more than just a headshot.”
He’s right. And yet, it’s not something you can capture in a bullet point or a tagline. It’s something that happens in the moment—the energy, the connection, the trust—and it lives in the photos we create together.
So if you’ve ever wondered whether a headshot can actually change things... I’d say come find out. Not because it’s magic. But because when you show up fully and are seen fully, the world tends to notice.
And sometimes, it gives you a boost. If it's a boost you need, I'm here for you.
